A very Happy Mother’s Day

A very Happy Mother’s Day

Spread the love

Mother, a word that is enough to suffice the whole world in it. A woman has to play many roles in life may it be of a daughter or a wife, but the most sacred of all the roles is the role of a mother. We all have heard glorious stories of mothers and how a mother can actually battle the whole world for her child, the most famous story is about goddess Parvati who fought lord Shiva, her husband to get her dead child back to life. Such is the passion of a mother towards her children, and that’s why we are blessed. There is a popular saying

“God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers”

Well, the glory of mothers is eternal, then why suffice this glory in just one day? Have you ever wondered the story behind how Mother’s Day came into existence! let me narrate it to you.

The need of Mother’s Day was felt by a woman Anna Jarvis, who incidentally never became a mother. Born in 1864, she was 12 years old when she heard her mother, Ann Marie Jarvis, praying that she hoped someone would start a commemoration day to recognize the service mothers render to humanity in every field of life. Anna never forgot that prayer. Ann Marie’s prayers were not just some sentimental jargon, but it was an observation felt through extensive community work.

Anna kept these prayers in her mind and after her mother died, Anna started an extensive campaign to establish Mother’s Day in the US as her mother desired, she soon succeeded in her endeavors and this is how 2nd Sunday of May was declared as Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day is symbolic of our awareness towards the number of efforts our mothers put in maintaining our lives and we are thankful to all the mothers across the world for sharing so much of love and care, nurturing future generations and making this world a better place
Thank you, MOM. We love you. Happy Mother’s Day.
